Peer to Peer Technical Assistance

If . . .
. . . your organization is experiencing new challenges in a program or project,
. . . your staff has been assigned a project requiring new skills and there is not enough time to get training,
. . . you are experiencing organizational development issues,
. . . your new board members need assistance in understanding their roles or the projects the organization wishes to pursue,
. . . you need assistance identifying resources and choosing which are best for the efforts of your organization,
Then . . .
Peer to Peer Technical Assistance may be the answer for you!

bulletCCEDA has been offering Peer to Peer Technical Assistance since its inception.   This activity has allowed CCEDA members to teach one another through the sharing of practical experience.  CCEDA has recently formalized its Peer to Peer Technical Assistance Program, seeing it as the seed that will germinate the training activities which it plans to pursue.   Peer to Peer Technical Assistance provides a one-day consultation of training to a community development corporation upon request to CCEDA.  CCEDA matches an appropriate practitioner with the needs of the CDC requesting the assistance.  A one-day session in person is followed-up by telephone calls as needed to complete the consultation.
bulletMore about Peer to Peer The commitment of CCEDA to its members in the development and enhancement of individual and organizational capacity is most appropriately expressed through the network of sharing between members.  Peer to Peer Technical Assistance is more than a philosophical expression of sharing and networking.  It is a value embraced by practitioners who are committed to the empowerment and creation of systemic change in disadvantaged communities.  It is a "teach one, learn one" component of CCEDA's membership service, serving as an informal vehicle for the transference of skills and knowledge that are rooted in practical application.
bulletWho can use Peer to Peer?  While CCEDA established this program for its membership, other community based development organizations may also request Peer to Peer Technical Assistance.
bulletTo Request Peer to Peer Consultation Call one of the CCEDA offices or fill out the form below and submit it.  This initial contact will enable CCEDA staff to assess the extent of technical assistance needed.  CCEDA will then present your organization with names and descriptions of possible Peer to Peer consultants.  When the CDC has chosen a consultant, CCEDA will assist as intermediary and make arrangements for the consultation.  Your organization may be asked to send some briefing documents to the Peer to Peer consultant.
bulletCCEDA's Broker Role CCEDA will act as a broker between the consultant and the nonprofit organization receiving the service.  The organization will pay CCEDA for the service and CCEDA will in turn pay the consultant his/her fees and expenses incurred.
bulletThe Cost of the Peer to Peer Consultation Peer to Peer Consultants are practitioners who are committed to sharing and enhancing the skills of fellow organizations and individuals.  Thus it is important to recognize their skills and the time they commit away from their own organizations through financial compensation.   The total cost for a Peer to Peer consultation may range between $500 to $1,500.   This is only a small sum for the quality of assistance and knowledge an organization can receive through Peer to Peer Technical Assistance.  All Peer to Peer payments will be handled by CCEDA.
